Westside Soccer Player Development training program is open to all U8 to U12  players interested in a competitive, tiered development program. Player groupings will be based on placing like-minded and like-skilled players together. This will allow each player to train and develop in an environment appropriate to their ability.

WSPD training sessions focus on skill development, teamwork and age-appropriate tactical play. The program is offered by Point Grey, Kerrisdale and Dunbar soccer clubs and is run and administered by their respective Technical Directors. The WSPD training program is offered in the fall, winter and spring. 

The cost is $135 for eight 1.5 hour sessions.There is also a $25 kit fee for a WSPD adidas jersey for new players. Returning players with kit do not need to re-purchase.

Players who may be playing up a year should count on playing their natural age group at WSPD. It is very rare that we are not able to provide a competitive training environment for players within their proper age group.

All sessions for boys and girls will be held at Prince of Wales Secondary School Field. This is the field that runs east-west at the southern end of the school property. Here are the dates and times:

If you were born in 2000, 2001 or 2002 you will train at 5:00pm to 6:30pm.

If you were born in 1998 or 1999 you will train at 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

If you were born in 1999 you will train at 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

If you were born in 1998 you will train at 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

 

 

All WSPD training times are subject to change based on registration numbers

WSPD Small Sided Games is open to current (ie. 2009/10 season) U7 to U10 players. Each session will consist of a short warm-up that incorporates age-appropriate skill development with a ball and then a small sided game overseen by a professional coach who coaches and encourages as the game goes on.

 

Cost is $100 and the program will run on Friday evenings at Pt. Grey Secondary School Turf (W 37th Ave and East Blvd). The emphasis is on fun and maintaining a high level of activity.

 

U7 and U8: 5:15pm to 6:15pm

U9 and U10: 6:15pm to 7:15pm

 The program runs on the following Fridays:

April 23, 30; May 7, 14, 28; June 4, 11, 18

REFUND POLICY: full refund, minus $10 to cover online transaction fees, if applied for in writing (email) before the second session, minus $50 before fourth session; none after this. Training kit is non-refundable.

Dates, times and location subject to change. Space is limited and registration may be capped when age group limits are reached.

WSPD is the player development program of Dunbar Soccer Association, Kerrisdale Soccer Club and Pt. Grey Soccer Club; as such, these clubs, through their Technical Directors with approval from their respective Board of Directors determine the policies that govern WSPD.
